Postdoc in Computer Architecture
Chalmers University of Technology invites applications for a postdoctoral position in Computer Architecture within the Division of Computer and Network Systems, part of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering—a joint department with the University of Gothenburg. The division is renowned for designing secure, dependable, and high-performance computer and communication systems, addressing the needs of a digital and interconnected world.
This postdoc will contribute to the European research project DARE, which aims to make Europe self-sufficient in developing computer technology for high performance computing and artificial intelligence. The research focus is on on-chip memory systems, including coherent caches and network-on-chip technologies. The position offers opportunities to develop architectural concepts, supervise master’s and doctoral students, and engage in teaching at undergraduate and master’s levels.
Applicants must have a doctoral degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Architecture or a closely related field, completed by the time of employment decision. Strong written and verbal English communication skills and experience with cycle-level architectural simulation are mandatory. Teaching experience and demonstrated research potential are expected. Preference is given to candidates who obtained their doctoral degree within the last three years and those with industrial experience in computer systems development. Physical presence in Gothenburg is required throughout the employment, and a valid residence permit must be presented by the start date.
The position is a full-time, temporary employment for two years, with the possibility of a one-year extension. As a postdoc at Chalmers, you will enjoy comprehensive employee benefits, including salary, healthcare, generous parental leave, subsidized day care, and access to free schools. Chalmers is committed to gender balance, equality, and inclusion, and offers Swedish language courses for international staff. The university fosters a collaborative and innovative environment, with strong industry links and a diverse research community.
To apply, submit your application via the online form by April 30, 2026. Required documents include a comprehensive CV (with publication list), details of teaching and pedagogical experience, and a personal letter outlining your research background and future goals. Incomplete applications and those sent by email will not be considered. References will be requested after the interview. For questions, contact Professor Miquel Pericàs at [email protected].
