Fully Funded PhD Positions in Experimental Physics / Physical Chemistry at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research

Two fully funded PhD positions are available in experimental physics and physical chemistry at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz, Germany . The projects sit at the interface of liquid spectroscopy , 2D materials , and electrochemistry , with a focus on fundamental questions in charge transfer at liquid interfaces . The positions are in the upcoming group of Mathieu Lizée , within the Molecular Spectroscopy department led by Professor Mischa Bonn . The successful candidates will help shape a newly starting group from day one and work in an outstanding scientific environment. The post is aimed at candidates with a strong background in physics and/or physical chemistry , plus motivation to learn new experimental techniques and contribute to the field. Funding is provided through the standard Max Planck contract, with a net salary of around 2100€/month . Positions are available from February 2027 .
