Hokkaido University’s Institute for Chemical Reaction Design and Discovery (ICReDD) is inviting applications for 2 Postdoctoral Fellow positions in Japan. The project sits at the intersection of catalysis , computational chemistry , machine learning , and chemical reaction design , with a strong emphasis on asymmetric catalysis, stereoselective reaction development, and experimental validation of computational predictions. The successful candidates will join a globally recognized WPI research center in Sapporo and work in an interdisciplinary environment combining computational, information, and experimental sciences. The role is especially relevant for researchers with backgrounds in organic synthesis, catalyst design, data-driven chemistry, and advanced modeling for chemical discovery. Eligibility highlights: applicants must hold a PhD at the time of appointment, have a strong publication record, and demonstrate experience in catalysis, synthetic chemistry, computational chemistry, or related fields. Strong English communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an international, interdisciplinary team are required. Funding: the position offers an annual salary of approximately 4.5 million JPY . The appointment is for one year from the start date and may be renewed depending on circumstances.
