Research will extend this work by modelling stochastic variability in neutron loading, blanket geometry, and irradiation-driven microstructural evolution. The aim is to improve long-term prediction of structural integrity and lifetime for fusion blanket materials, with validation using emerging experimental data from future fusion-relevant facilities. Funding: full tuition fees plus an annual stipend at the UKRI rate (£20,780 for 2025/26), with additional research expenses of up to £1,000 per year. Eligibility: applicants should hold a 2.1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a relevant science discipline.
