Fully Funded PhD Studentships in Artificial Intelligence and Health Data Science at University College London

University College London (UCL) is offering fully funded PhD studentships in Artificial Intelligence and Health Data Science, based at the Institute of Health Informatics and funded by the NIHR UCL/UCLH Biomedical Research Centre. This 3.5-year doctoral program provides a unique opportunity to work on AI applications in real clinical environments, leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as vision-language models and unique datasets to advance understanding of diseases and patient care. Students will also contribute to teaching, equivalent to six months over the course of the PhD. The program is supervised by Professor Paul Taylor and offers a generous stipend of £22,780 per annum, with tuition fees covered at the UK Home rate. Successful candidates will benefit from world-class training in AI and health data science, and will conduct supervised research at one of the UK's leading research institutes. The research focus includes artificial intelligence, health data science, medicine, biomedical research, vision-language models, clinical informatics, and disease analytics. Applicants must hold at least an upper second-class Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree or have equivalent experience, and should demonstrate a strong interest in AI in healthcare and health data science.
