Peter Kraftl

A funded PhD studentship is available at the University of Birmingham, focusing on neuroinclusion in themed entertainment attractions such as theme parks. The project aims to understand and improve the experiences of neurodivergent people in theme parks, addressing barriers and facilitators to inclusion. The research will use methods from psychology and human geography, including surveys, interviews, guided walks, and physiological sensors. The project is supervised by Professor Peter Kraftl (Geography), Dr Cathy Manning (Psychology), and in partnership with Katapult and Drayton Manor Resort. Applicants should have a strong academic background in social sciences or interdisciplinary studies, with experience in data collection and analysis, stakeholder engagement, and a passion for theme parks and neurodivergence.
