PhD opportunity at the University of Victoria in the Gharehkhani Group, co-supervised by Prof. James Olson and Prof. Peter Wild. The project focuses on developing novel wood-based materials, with particular attention to microfibrillated cellulose and the refining process. The research combines experimental work with extensive data analysis and may include machine learning tools to improve process understanding and materials development. Preferred backgrounds include mechanical engineering, pulp and paper, chemical engineering, machine learning, or closely related areas.
