Pia Åkerfeldt

Pia Åkerfeldt is a Senior Lecturer at Luleå University of Technology in Sweden. Her research focuses on additive manufacturing, particularly examining the design-roughness-performance relationship and the mechanical properties of various materials, including ultra-high strength steels and austenitic stainless steel alloys. She has contributed significantly to studies on hydrogen concentrations and their impact on material performance, as well as issues related to machining and post-processing of additively manufactured components.
