A series of furylenevinylene oligomers (FV) were synthesized from common furan platforms derived of lignocellulosic biomass. Their electronic properties were evaluated by UV‐Vis absorption and cyclic voltammetry and compared with thienylenevinylene analogues (TV). The difference between the electronic properties of these extended vinyl‐heterocycle derivatives is mainly due to the less aromatic character of the furan core that allows an easier access to the quinoidic form and thus, procures a better electronic delocalization. As a main consequence, the access to the dication state is favoured for the furan derivatives with a quasi‐coalescence of the two first oxidation potentials for 5 FV units.
