About
Raffaele Dellaca' is an Associate Professor at Politecnico di Milano, Italy. His research focuses on respiratory support systems, neonatal respiratory mechanics, and innovative diagnostic technologies in mechanical ventilation. Recent publications highlight his work on the performance of heated humidifiers, the development of e-Nose systems for early sepsis diagnosis, and the mechanics of respiratory oscillometry in preterm infants.

The present study examines an alternative and innovative mechanical ventilation modality in improving oxygen delivery, CO 2 clearance, and respiratory mechanical abnormalities in a clinically relevant experimental model of capnoperitoneum. Our data reveal that high-frequency oscillations combined with conventional ventilation improve gas exchange, with intratracheal oscillations being more effective than extrathoracic oscillations in this clinically relevant translational model.
