Postdoctoral Scholar in Genomic Instability, DNA Repair, and Innate Immunity at University of California, Irvine

The Buisson Lab at the University of California, Irvine is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join their research team in the Department of Biological Chemistry. The position focuses on investigating mechanisms of DNA damage response, APOBEC-mediated mutagenesis, innate immunity, and double-stranded RNA sensing. The lab's research interests include genomic instability, DNA repair, virology, RNA biology, and the crosstalk between innate immune signaling and RNA viral infection. The lab utilizes multidisciplinary approaches to address fundamental questions in genome biology, with recent work published in high-impact journals such as Science Advances, Nature Structural & Molecular Biology, and Nature Communications. Applicants should have a Ph.D. (or be near completion) and at least one strong first-author publication from their doctoral work. Experience in DNA damage and repair, innate immunity, virology, RNA biology, or genome instability is desirable but not required. The position is NIH-funded and offers an outstanding scientific environment in Southern California, with access to the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Center for Epigenetics and Metabolism, and the Center on RNA Science and Therapeutics at UCI. To apply, candidates should email Dr. Rémi Buisson with a brief statement of research interests and future goals, a CV, and a list of manuscripts. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. For more information about the lab and UCI, visit the provided links.
