The Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Warsaw is recruiting for an NCN-funded postdoctoral position in the project CABS-flex RNA: AI-Assisted Multiscale Modeling of RNA Structural Ensembles (grant UMO-2025/59/B/ST6/01643), led by Prof. Sebastian Kmiecik. This is a full-time, temporary research appointment in the Laboratory of Computational Biology, with two positions available. The project focuses on RNA structural ensembles, combining automated long-timescale biomolecular simulations with the development of computational methods, coarse-grained models, force fields, and statistical potentials using data-driven and AI-assisted approaches. The successful candidate’s tasks will be matched to their expertise, either in biomolecular simulations or computational method development, and the two research strands will interact within the project. Applicants should hold a PhD in a relevant natural, computational, or technical science and meet the University of Warsaw/NCN eligibility conditions. Strong experience in structural bioinformatics or molecular modelling of proteins, RNA, or their complexes is required, along with practical Python skills for automation, simulation workflows, and results analysis. Good English and the ability to work collaboratively in a research team are also expected. Experience in RNA modelling, Fortran, HPC, coarse-grained methods, machine learning, or statistical potentials is welcome as an advantage. The post offers a gross monthly salary of PLN 8000–12000 and a planned duration of 24 months, with a possible extension until 31 July 2029 subject to project funding. The position is based at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Warsaw, in Warsaw, Poland, with an expected start on 1 January 2027 or a mutually agreed date. Applications should be sent by email to [email protected] by 14 November 2026. Required documents include a CV with publication list and contribution descriptions for up to three selected papers, a short motivation letter, contact details of two referees, and a statement accepting the University of Warsaw competition rules. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for interview, and results will be communicated by email.
