Stephan Lobitz

Stephan Lobitz is the Head of Department at Gemeinschaftsklinikum Mittelrhein in Germany. His research focuses on sickle cell disease, including the implications of genetic mutations and newborn screening protocols. He has published recent articles addressing acute splenic sequestration risks in patients with compound heterozygous sickle cell disease, as well as genetic causes of pediatric conditions. Lobitz is also investigating the risks associated with chromosomally integrated viruses in stem cell transplantation.
