The Institute for Translational Medicine and Liver Disease (ITM), Inserm U1110, University of Strasbourg, France, is offering a postdoctoral fellowship in a translational research program focused on novel therapeutic strategies to treat liver cancer. The position is part of a broader liver disease and cancer research effort led by Prof. Thomas Baumert and Dr Catherine Schuster. The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative and internationally connected biomedical research environment in Strasbourg, working at the interface of fibrosis, liver cancer, biliary cancer, immunology, animal models, bioinformatics, and artificial intelligence. The project makes use of cutting-edge in vivo and cell-based models, patient-derived systems, sc/snRNA and spatial transcriptomics, systems biology, and AI-enabled analysis. The postdoctoral fellow will contribute to a world-class research setting with strong links to academia, pharma, and major international institutions, including the Yale School of Medicine Liver Center, University of Tübingen, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, UTSW Dallas, Sorbonne University Paris, and AP-HP. The institution highlights a vibrant training environment, innovation-driven infrastructure, and a tenure-track-oriented environment within Inserm and the University of Strasbourg. Eligibility highlights include a PhD, PharmD, or MD, with less than 6 years of postdoctoral experience. Applicants should have a background in immunology, fibrosis, or cancer research, and should have expertise in developing and using mouse models. Strong English communication skills, motivation, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced translational research environment are emphasized. To apply, candidates should send a motivation letter and CV, including experience, track record, and two academic references, to Prof. Thomas Baumert and Dr Catherine Schuster by email. The deadline for applications is 15 December 2026 at 17:00 (Europe/Paris). This is a full-time, temporary postdoctoral position based in Strasbourg, France.
