Professor Tory Eisenlohr-Moul at the University of Chicago is recruiting a postdoc in reproductive neuroscience . The project focuses on how sensitivity to normal menstrual cycle hormone changes influences mood , suicidality , and harmful substance use , with a newly funded R01 examining neural mechanisms by which stabilizing perimenstrual estradiol may reduce menstrually-emergent suicidal ideation. The research environment includes daily diary methods, densely sampled hormone measurement, a placebo-controlled crossover hormone manipulation trial , fMRI , and further development of menstrualcycleR , an R package analytic pipeline for cycle data. This is a strong fit for candidates interested in neuroscience, psychology, medical science, biology, statistics, and computational analysis of longitudinal hormone and behavioral data.
