The project focuses on
neural circuits
that regulate
body weight
,
glucose metabolism
, and broader
cardiometabolic health
. The group has identified a previously uncharacterised neuronal population in the brain and is seeking a postdoc to functionally interrogate it using
stereotactic viral delivery
,
in vivo fiber photometry
,
DREADDs
, and
neuroanatomical tracing
in
transgenic mouse models
. The work will also integrate findings with
single-cell
and
spatial transcriptomic
datasets generated in the group and by collaborators.
This is an interdisciplinary environment combining
human genetics
,
single-cell genomics
,
artificial intelligence
, and
experimental circuit neuroscience
, with collaborations across the US, UK, Switzerland, and Denmark. The position is part of the
CBMR International PhD & Postdoc Program
.
Eligibility and requirements include a
PhD
in neuroscience, molecular biology, biochemistry, molecular biomedicine, biology, or a related field; a strong publication record; deep knowledge of
central nervous control of energy homeostasis
and
hypothalamic/brainstem circuit neuroscience
; and hands-on experience with
rodent models
,
Cre-driver lines
,
Cre-dependent viral strategies
,
stereotactic surgery
,
fiber photometry
,
DREADDs/optogenetics
, and
tracing
. Strong English communication skills are required.
The post is a
full-time 2-year
appointment. Salary, pension, and employment terms follow Danish university agreements, with possible supplements depending on qualifications. The application deadline is
