The Reinhart Group at Penn State University is recruiting a postdoctoral scholar to work on AI/ML for autonomous materials discovery through the new LATTICE Programmable Cloud Laboratory Test Bed. The project contributes to a national network of AI-orchestrated laboratories focused on materials discovery for electronics, photonics, and quantum technologies . The postdoctoral researcher will help develop and apply domain-specific machine-learning models that support agentic operations on materials characterization data. This interdisciplinary opportunity combines artificial intelligence with physical science and experimental research. The work is particularly suited to researchers with expertise in machine learning, computer vision, or agentic AI who also have experience with materials science or related physical sciences. The broader research environment is focused on bringing advanced AI capabilities into experimental science and enabling more autonomous approaches to materials discovery. The position is part of the Reinhart Group in Materials Science and Engineering at Penn State University’s University Park campus.
