Wiesław Deptuła is a Professor at Uniwersytet Mikołaja Kopernika w Toruniu, Poland. His research areas encompass the pathogenicity and immunogenicity of Lagovirus europaeus, haematopoiesis in zebrafish, and the roles of mitochondria and pattern recognition receptors in physiological and pathological conditions. He also investigates the functions of platelets in inflammation and immune responses to bacterial and viral infections, and examines immunological memory in teleost fish, as well as the role of Type I interferons in ray-finned fish.
