Yann Bertrand is the Head of Laboratory at the Institute of Botany of the Czech Academy of Sciences. His research areas include the phylogeny of native American Hawkweeds, molecular evolution of ribosomal DNA in the Hawkweed tribe, and the dynamics of repeatomes in closely related species of Hieracium. His recent publications focus on origin and speciation patterns, as well as apomictic hybrids within the Asteraceae family.
