Rotary Peace Fellowship 2026

The Rotary Peace Fellowship is a prestigious international programme run by Rotary International to develop skilled leaders in peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and development. It supports study at selected Rotary Peace Centers hosted by partner universities in several countries.

The fellowship typically funds two pathways: a master's degree at participating universities and a professional development certificate for mid-career professionals. According to recent postings, master's programmes are hosted at Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the United States, International Christian University in Japan, the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom, the University of Queensland in Australia, and Uppsala University in Sweden. Certificate programmes are hosted at Makerere University in Uganda, Bahçeşehir University in Türkiye, and Symbiosis International University in India.

This is generally a fully funded opportunity. Coverage commonly includes tuition, room and board or accommodation support, round-trip airfare, internship and field-study expenses, health insurance, and living support. The programme is aimed at applicants with a strong academic background, clear leadership potential, and significant relevant work experience in areas connected to peace, conflict resolution, development, or public service.

Recent reference postings indicate that applicants should hold a bachelor's degree in a related field and usually need at least three years of relevant work experience for the master's programme or five years for the certificate programme. A minimum gap of three years between the most recent academic degree and the fellowship start date may also apply.

Applications are usually submitted online through Rotary's official fellowship portal. Because requirements can vary slightly by pathway and cycle, applicants should review the current guidance carefully, prepare academic records and supporting documents early, and confirm eligibility, host center options, and deadlines before applying.
