University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) 2026
About this scholarship
The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) supports outstanding non-EU/EEA students admitted to eligible University of Twente master's programmes in the Netherlands.
The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) is a merit-based scholarship offered by the University of Twente in the Netherlands for excellent international students applying to selected master's programmes. It is designed for students from non-EU/EEA countries who want to study full-time at master's level at the university.
UTS provides a financial contribution of €3,000 to €22,000 for one year to help with study-related expenses. The award is generally paid directly to the student rather than used automatically toward tuition fees, so recipients can use it for costs such as living expenses and other academic needs. For eligible two-year master's programmes, a second-year award of a similar value may be available if the student meets the required academic progress conditions.
The scholarship is available across a wide range of fields at the University of Twente, especially in engineering, science, technology, management, and selected social science areas. Examples mentioned in recent postings include Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Robotics, Applied Mathematics, Business Administration, Psychology, Environmental and Energy Management, Statistics, Communication Science, and Philosophy of Science, Technology and Society.
To be considered, applicants normally need to have received admission or provisional admission to a qualifying University of Twente MSc programme and satisfy the university's English language requirements. Current University of Twente students and Dutch students are not eligible under the referenced postings. UTS recipients may also be considered for additional funding opportunities such as the Kipaji Scholarship, where applicable.
Applications are typically submitted through the University of Twente's scholarship and admissions process after applying for an eligible master's programme. Because programme lists, rounds, and detailed conditions can change, students should always confirm the latest criteria and timelines on the official University of Twente scholarship pages.
