Banca d’Italia offers the Donato Menichella scholarship for postgraduate study abroad in the field of law and economics. The award supports a specialisation course of at least nine months at an internationally renowned foreign university, with the possibility of extending support for a second academic year on a case-by-case basis.

The scholarship is aimed at high-achieving graduates whose studies sit at the intersection of legal and economic analysis. The advertised research area includes themes such as the interaction between growth and legal systems, the economic effects of regulation, and the legal implications of digital assets and artificial intelligence. Recipients are expected to pursue a study programme abroad that is closely aligned with this profile.

This is a small, highly selective scheme, with two awards available per round. The scholarship is issued by the Italian central bank and is designed to support advanced academic training at a leading overseas institution.
