Canadian Francophonie Scholarship Program (CFSP)

The Canadian Francophonie Scholarship Program (CFSP) 2026–2027 is a prestigious, fully funded opportunity for students and professionals from eligible Francophone countries to pursue advanced studies and professional training in Canada. Funded by the Government of Canada and managed by the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) and World University Service of Canada (WUSC), the CFSP aims to strengthen institutional capacity in developing member countries of La Francophonie.

The program supports Master’s and PhD degree programs, as well as technical and vocational training and short-term professional internships. Eligible fields typically include Education & Training of Trainers, Technical & Vocational Education, Public Administration & Governance, Economics, Finance & Management, Information Technology & Digital Innovation, Agriculture, Environment & Sustainable Development, Engineering & Applied Sciences, Research & Higher Education Development, and Public Health (non-clinical). Clinical training in medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy is not eligible.

CFSP recipients receive comprehensive financial support, including full tuition coverage, monthly living allowance, round-trip airfare, health insurance, study materials, research support, settlement and relocation allowances, and professional development support. The scholarship is highly competitive and is designed for individuals who are committed to contributing to the development of their home countries after completing their studies in Canada.

Applicants must be employed nationals of an eligible developing Francophone country, hold a key institutional position, and be nominated internally by their institution under the country quota system. Fluency in spoken and written French is mandatory, and candidates must meet the academic and admission requirements of their chosen Canadian institution. The application process involves internal selection by the applicant’s institution, nomination to a Local Advisory Committee, national evaluation, and subsequent application for admission to a Canadian university or college. The scholarship becomes effective only after admission is granted.
