University of Roehampton is advertising fully funded postgraduate opportunities through the Connected Waters Leverhulme Doctoral Programme, an interdisciplinary programme focused on the evolving interactions between human agency and freshwater ecosystems.

The programme brings together research across the sciences and humanities to study the social, cultural, environmental, governance, and health dimensions of water. It offers up to 18 fully funded master's and PhD scholarships across the Connected Waters programme at the University of Roehampton and Cranfield.

One advertised project is the PhD topic “The Great Outdoors: Does exposing our senses to natural water sources benefit our physiology and psychology?” This project explores the relationship between natural water environments, sensory experience, human physiology, psychology, and wellbeing.

A separate fully funded Master's + PhD studentship is also advertised and is specifically ring-fenced for Black applicants and/or applicants from low-income households, with the aim of improving access and representation in research.

Eligibility highlights include an interest in interdisciplinary research, freshwater environments, environmental management, human health, wellbeing, and related social or cultural questions. The post also notes that no prior Roehampton Masters degree is required for the PhD opportunity.
