TUS Funded Research Scholarship

Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), Ireland is advertising a fully funded PhD opportunity titled “Men and Baby Loss: A Project Examining Men’s Experiences of Baby Loss and Support”.

The project is led by Dr. Lewis King, a Lecturer in Sport and Health Sciences within the SHE Research Centre at TUS and an affiliated member of the Pregnancy Loss Research Group at University College Cork.

This PhD uses a qualitative, participatory approach to explore how men experience and cope with the loss of a baby, and how healthcare and community services can better support them. The research aims to give voice to men’s experiences and help shape more compassionate, inclusive bereavement support in healthcare policy and practice.

Funding includes a €16,000 annual stipend for 4 years plus university fees funded by TUS.

Suggested academic interests include men’s health, psychology, sociology, public health, and mixed-methods research. The post is suitable for applicants interested in bereavement, baby loss, support interventions, and community-engaged research.
