Joel Dearden Scholarship

University College London’s Bartlett Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA) is preparing a fully funded 3-year PhD scholarship: the Joel Dearden Scholarship. The project is aimed at students interested in urban and regional modelling, geo-visualisation, and related spatial/data-driven research.

The call is especially relevant for applicants working across CASA fields such as urban networks and complexity, economic geography, urban innovation, transport modelling, urban planning, housing, connected sensor systems, cities and climate change, and urban policy. The post notes that applicants whose work aligns with Joel Dearden’s core topics are particularly welcome.

This opportunity is for home students only. The scholarship starts in October 2026 or February 2027. A pre-application deadline of 1 July 2026 is mentioned, and the formal advert will be posted shortly.
