About this position

PhD opportunity at Monash University Malaysia in Subang Jaya, Malaysia under the Global Excellence and Mobility Scholarship (GEMS 2027).

The project is titled AI-Driven G2V and V2G Coordination for Energy Management and focuses on electric vehicles, vehicle-to-grid (V2G), grid stability, renewable energy integration, machine learning, artificial intelligence, data science, mathematical modelling, and operational research. The research aims to improve forecasting of EV arrival/departure times, charging demand, and renewable generation using Transformer-based methods, then build AI-assisted optimization for real-time charging and discharging coordination. It also includes game-theory-based pricing and mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) to balance user incentives, battery degradation, and computational efficiency.

The framework will be validated using real-world EV charging, building load, and solar generation data from Malaysia’s commercial and industrial sectors, with collaboration from EV and solar industry partners.
