ARC Postgraduate Research Scholarship

PhD opportunity at the University of Sydney in structural biology, focused on how DNA structure and dynamics regulate transcription factor binding and gene expression.

The project sits at the intersection of biology, chemistry, and physics, and will use protein and nucleic acid NMR spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography, biophysical methods, and bioinformatics. Training includes high-field NMR (including 800 MHz), crystallography, molecular biology, and related structural approaches.

The position is linked to the ARC Postgraduate Research Scholarship in the Faculty of Science. The scholarship provides a stipend at the University of Sydney RTP rate and may also cover tuition fees for international recipients, subject to eligibility and funding availability.

Eligible applicants should hold or expect to complete a Master’s or Honours degree in biophysics, biochemistry, chemistry, or a related field. Experience with NMR or crystallography is helpful but not required.
