This opportunity is a PhD-level scholarship at Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, within the Developmental Epigenetics Lab. The role is strongly bioinformatics-oriented. The student will perform most of the analytical work using pipelines and procedures developed by Dr Michał Gdula, further develop methods as the project evolves, and help manage the laboratory’s GitHub presence. The work also includes close collaboration with a research assistant and a postdoctoral researcher on NGS data analysis, as well as participation in experimental design and planning. The selected candidate will also represent the lab at scientific conferences.
Eligibility requirements include a master’s degree in bioinformatics, molecular biology, computer science, or a related discipline. Candidates should have strong bioinformatics skills, programming experience in Linux using Bash, R, and Python, and familiarity with standard bioinformatics tools. A good grounding in molecular biology and an interest in epigenetics and/or developmental biology are essential. The call also asks for excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with proficiency in written and spoken English. Experience with NGS workflows such as RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, and WGBS, and with chromosome conformation capture-based techniques, is considered an advantage.
The scholarship is offered for 12 months, with a 40-hour work week.
