About this position

The Center for Carbon Research in Tropical Agriculture (CCARBON/USP), located at the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (ESALQ/USP), is offering a postdoctoral scholarship for a researcher interested in academic management of research projects. This opportunity is part of the FAPESP CEPID Program and focuses on advancing low-carbon tropical agriculture by promoting solutions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing carbon sequestration.

The selected candidate will be based at CCARBON/USP in Piracicaba, São Paulo, Brazil, and will join a multidisciplinary environment with over 70 principal and associate researchers and more than 220 postdoctoral, PhD, MSc, and undergraduate students. The position involves supporting research integration, project monitoring, reporting, and strategic activities across multiple research chains, with a particular focus on the elaboration of annual reports and participation in the Research Division.

Key responsibilities include articulating and integrating sectorial chains and transversal areas, organizing and monitoring deliverables, liaising with chain leaders, preparing scientific and management reports, curating and consolidating data for presentations and reports, organizing regular meetings, prospecting technical and institutional partnerships, mapping funding opportunities, identifying relevant scientific and technical events, supporting coordination of activities carried out by fellows, collaborating with scientific communication initiatives, contributing to scientific and technical outputs, managing financial flows, and responding to institutional requests.

Applicants must have a PhD in Agronomy or related fields, experience in academic management of research projects, strong organizational and project monitoring skills, experience with scientific reporting and data organization, and English proficiency. Desired skills include high motivation, scientific productivity, experience with large research teams and multidisciplinary environments, ability to improve project efficiency and researchers’ time management, experience with partnerships, funding opportunities, and research networks, and familiarity with scientific communication and dissemination activities.

The scholarship is worth R$8,479.20 (approximately US$1,700) gross monthly for 3 months. Applications are open from March 25 to April 18, 2026, with the expected start date of May 1, 2026.
