What's required

For Master’s or Integrated Doctoral programs, applicants must have completed 16 years of education outside Japan or expect to do so before enrollment. For PhD programs, applicants must hold or expect to obtain a Master’s degree or equivalent before enrollment. A minimum GPA of 2.3 out of 3.0 is required for MEXT eligibility. Applicants must be at least 22 years old by the day before the admission date. English or Japanese language proficiency is required, though there is no mandatory Japanese proficiency requirement; applicants may need TOEFL, IELTS Academic, TOEIC, or an exemption if prior study was in English or Japanese.
