About this position

Call for applications: Two-Year Funded Master’s Scholarships (Cohort 4) from the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), under the KfW-funded EAC Scholarship Programme.

This opportunity supports Master’s study in an EAC Partner State other than your country of citizenship. It is open to EAC nationals from Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda who are below 35 years and have a Bachelor’s degree with at least Second Class Upper Division, Distinction, or equivalent.

Funding: full tuition, return economy-class airfare, EUR 200 arrival allowance, EUR 380 monthly stipend, EUR 650 study materials allowance, EUR 1,500 study and research allowance, and medical insurance. Visa/entry fee support is also mentioned where applicable.

Eligible fields include Mathematics, Engineering, Informatics, Science, Technology, and Business Science. The list of eligible programmes spans areas such as applied mathematics, statistics, data science, information technology, software engineering, electrical engineering, chemistry, microbiology, biotechnology, public health, biomedical laboratory sciences, economics, finance, human resource management, logistics and supply chain management, and more.

Application process: first apply for admission to an eligible programme at a participating university, then submit the separate scholarship application online and email the required supporting documents as a single zipped PDF folder. Applications must be in English and complete with all mandatory documents.

Deadline: 10 September 2026 at 17:00 EAT. The online form opens on 20 August 2026.

Funding details

Full funding including tuition fees and living expenses is available for this position. The scholarship covers all educational costs and provides a monthly stipend.
