About this position

?? PhD Opportunity in Chemical Biology at UEA ??
Do you want to use cutting-edge science to tackle global challenges in food security and sustainable agriculture?
We're recruiting a fully funded PhD student to join an interdisciplinary project at the University of East Anglia, focused on disrupting the protein-protein interactions pathogens use to to invade plants. This is a unique opportunity to work at the interface of chemical biology, plant biology, and medicinal chemistry, using innovative platforms to design and test molecules that defend crops from disease.

?? What you'll do:
- Design and synthesise peptides and small molecules
- Evaluate their ability to block pathogen-host interactions
- Train in computational design, protein biochemistry, and plant assays
- Collaborate across UEA and The Sainsbury Laboratory

This project is part of the Norwich Research Park Biosciences Doctoral Training Programme (NRPDTP) and offers a vibrant, collaborative research environment.
