About this position
University of Bath is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate in an interdisciplinary project focused on mammalian cell biology, molecular biology, chemical biology, and peptide screening. The work will develop innovative intracellular peptide screening technologies to investigate and modulate transcription factor function in living mammalian cells.
The post is hosted in Professor Jody Mason's research group at the University of Bath and is funded through a new BBSRC Pioneer Award. The successful candidate will work with Jody Mason, Andrew Brennan, and Scott Lovell on a collaborative project that combines cell biology, molecular cloning, cell-based functional assays, transcriptional reporters, gene expression analysis, and protein biochemistry.
Strong experience in mammalian cell culture and transfection is especially important. Candidates with experience in transcription factor biology, molecular cloning, transcriptional reporter assays, and gene expression analysis are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience in peptide chemistry is welcome but not essential. The role offers opportunities to develop expertise in intracellular peptide screening, contribute to high-impact publications, and travel for conferences and research visits.
Location: University of Bath, UK. Duration: 18 months, full-time. Salary: £39,560–£46,970 (Grade 7). Closing date: 29 November 2026.
Interested applicants should review the further details and apply via the provided application link. Informal enquiries are welcomed.
