The University of Luxembourg is seeking a Doctoral Candidate in Quantum Information Science to join the Signal Processing and Communications (SigCom) research group at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT). The university is renowned for its international, multilingual, and interdisciplinary environment, and the SnT is a leading center for secure, reliable, and trustworthy ICT systems and services. The SigCom group, led by Professor Symeon Chatzinotas, specializes in wireless and satellite communications, with a strong focus on the development of future 6G networks and quantum communication technologies.

The successful candidate will conduct research on quantum MIMO systems, developing theoretical models, communication protocols, and signal processing techniques for quantum-enhanced wireless networks. Responsibilities include designing and simulating quantum MIMO architectures, integrating quantum and classical communication layers, and contributing to the realization of quantum internet infrastructures in alignment with European research initiatives.

The role involves close collaboration with the SigCom team, reporting results, developing open-source proof-of-concept software tools, and presenting research outcomes at international conferences and workshops. The working language is English, and the laboratory is engaged in multiple European and international projects, fostering collaboration with academic and industry partners. Applicants should have an MSc degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Quantum Technologies, with foundational skills in quantum information science and familiarity with tools such as Qiskit, QuTiP, and PennyLane.

Strong analytical and programming skills (Python, Matlab, C/C++) are required, along with fluency in English. Experience in data-driven innovation projects and prior research publications are advantageous. The position offers a fixed-term contract of 36 months, full-time employment, and a yearly gross salary of EUR 41,976.
