About this position

This doctoral position at KTH Royal Institute of Technology is part of the ENDURE Marie Skłodowska Curie Doctoral Network, which aims to train the next generation of scientists and engineers for the European moulded fibre products (MFP) industry. The project focuses on physics-based modelling of network deformation and damage in natural fibre moulding, specifically targeting cellulose fibre networks. The research will develop advanced numerical models for deformation and damage analysis, providing validated tools for materials design and manufacturing in industry.

The candidate will gain experience in both fundamental research and industrial applications, working in a dynamic and international environment with collaboration across universities, research organizations, and industry partners. Supervision will be provided by Professor Sören Östlund, with support from Yangi AB and the broader ENDURE network. The position offers a monthly salary according to KTH's doctoral student salary agreement, with additional mobility and family allowances under the Marie Curie programme.

Applicants must meet mobility rules, hold a relevant master's degree or equivalent, and demonstrate English proficiency. Selection will emphasize personal skills, proficiency in numerical methods and programming, and a background in mechanics of materials or computational modelling. The position is full-time, temporary, and based in Stockholm, Sweden.

Application requires submission of a CV, application letter, diplomas, language certificates, and representative publications. KTH offers a creative and diverse research environment, with opportunities for professional growth and industrially relevant research.
