About this position
Education Collaboration at ORNL-2026 is an opportunity to join projects and activities at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where participants can connect with ORNL researchers and technical and professional staff. The program is designed for recent graduates, currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students, and recently separated veterans who want to engage with ORNL projects in a laboratory research environment.
The opening is broad rather than tied to a single project area: participants work alongside ORNL teams on available projects across the laboratory, gaining exposure to research, technical work, and professional collaboration. The advert emphasizes direct interaction with ORNL researchers and staff, suggesting a structured experience within a national laboratory setting rather than a standalone degree program.
The program is administered through ORISE and ORAU, with participation contingent on project availability and ORNL hosting decisions. Appointments may be renewed after review, but they will not exceed one year.
The announcement is framed around participation in ORNL’s Education Collaboration program and the chance to contribute to laboratory activities while being embedded in a high-level research environment.
