A competition-based PhD position is available at Heriot-Watt University , Edinburgh, within the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences and is open to both UK and international students. Subject to successful application, the candidate will join the Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Laboratory within the Institute of Mechanical, Process and Energy Engineering. The research will focus on the data-driven manufacturing of energy materials, targeting NetZero solutions such as thin films and coatings for energy storage batteries or hydrogen technology. The project involves academic collaboration with Dr Shahid Rasul, PhD, FHEA from Northumbria University and an industrial partnership with Rana Faisal Shahzad from SAVEIONS .
