About this position

Oregon State University’s Department of Animal & Rangeland Sciences is recruiting a highly motivated graduate student for a fully funded MS or PhD opportunity starting Fall 2026.

The position is in poultry science, nutrigenomics, and hemp-derived feed ingredients, with an interdisciplinary research focus on animal health, metabolism, growth, product quality, and sustainable production systems. The student will work on funded research examining nutrigenomic responses to hemp-based feed components in poultry, molecular and metabolic pathways, cannabinoid effects on calcium metabolism (bones and eggs), transcriptomics, applied poultry nutrition, and the sustainability impacts of hemp by-products in value-added poultry systems.

Funding is provided through the Chester M. Wilcox Memorial Fellowship, including a 0.40–0.49 FTE graduate assistantship stipend depending on available funds. Support duration is up to 2.5 years for MS students or 3.5 years for PhD students.

Eligibility is limited to U.S. citizens per fellowship policy. Applicants should hold a B.S. or M.S. in Animal Science, Poultry Science, Nutrition, Biology, or a related field, and should have a strong interest in molecular biology, nutrition, and poultry systems.

To apply, prepare a single PDF with your CV or résumé, a letter of intent explaining your interest, research goals, and career goals, plus the names of three references. Email the materials to [email protected] with the subject line Wilcox Fellowship Graduate Position. The deadline is June 30, 2026.
