Michigan Technological University is advertising fully funded PhD positions in Construction Automation and Robotics within the Computing and Robotics Construction (CaRC) Lab in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geospatial Engineering.

The research areas include construction automation and robotics, artificial intelligence in construction, computer vision and generative AI applications in construction, modular and prefabricated construction, BIM and digital twins, and blockchain-enabled contract management. The positions may start in Fall 2026, January 2027, or another date by negotiation.

The opportunity is led by Bo Xiao, Assistant Professor of Construction Management at Michigan Technological University. The post indicates that one or two PhD students may be recruited.
