PhD opportunity in migrant worker health equity at Universiti Malaya

The Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Practice, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya is recruiting a motivated PhD candidate to join the project Migrant Health Equity: Transforming Health Interventions for Migrant Workers. This is a fully funded, full-time 3-year PhD position focused on migrant worker health equity, public health, health policy, and health intervention research.

The project is suitable for candidates with training in public health or public policy, and for applicants with strong research skills in qualitative and/or quantitative methods. The post emphasizes work with migrant communities, health equity, academic writing, and communication in English. Prior experience with migrant communities is an advantage.

Funding includes a monthly stipend and tuition fee support, along with structured mentorship, training opportunities as an early career researcher, and support for participation in national and international conferences.

Eligibility highlights include a Master’s degree in Public Health, Public Policy, or a related health field with CGPA 3.5 or above, Malaysian citizenship, fluency in English and Malay (written and spoken), and willingness to enroll as a full-time PhD student at the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya.
