Fully Funded PhD Positions in Advanced Battery Materials at the University of Oxford University of Oxford in United Kingdom

Robert House at the University of Oxford is recruiting for two fully funded PhD positions starting October 2026 in advanced battery material research within the House Group, Department of Materials.

Project 1: Li-rich disordered cathodes for solid state batteries. This project is for Home/UK students only and is within the 3D-CAT and SOLBAT projects. It is co-supervised by Prof Mauro Pasta in the Department of Materials, University of Oxford, and funded by The Faraday Institution and Nissan.

Project 2: High energy density, low-cost, iron-based battery cathodes. This project is open to International + Home/UK students and is affiliated with the ZERO Institute at the University of Oxford with support from an industry sponsor.
