Fully Funded PhD Positions in Medicago Molecular Genetics and Tomato Gene Editing for Fall 2026 Tennessee State University in United States

Two fully funded PhD graduate student positions are available for a Fall 2026 start at Tennessee State University in the area of plant biotechnology.

The first project is in the Roy Lab and focuses on Medicago molecular genetics. This is a 4-year PhD research project and is best suited to candidates with a background in plant molecular genetics, plant biology, or closely related areas.

The second project is in Suping Zhou’s lab and focuses on tomato gene editing. This opportunity is also at the PhD level and is aimed at students interested in genetics, gene editing, and crop improvement research.
