About this position

Fully Funded Postdoctoral Position in Climate, Water & Data-Driven Agriculture at the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada.

This opportunity is in the research program of Sara Sadri, Canada Research Chair in Remote Sensing and Water Security and Associate Professor. The project addresses drought impacts on food systems, water resources, and rural economies through data-driven, real-time approaches for climate-resilient agricultural decision-making.

The postdoctoral researcher will work on hydroclimatic analysis, machine learning, statistical modeling, satellite Earth observation, remote sensing, and geospatial/environmental data. The role also includes developing predictive tools and decision-support systems, contributing to publications, and helping expand the broader research program through proposals and funding applications.

Eligibility highlights: applicants must hold a PhD in hydrology, climate science, environmental engineering, geospatial/data science, or a related field. Strong programming skills, especially Python, are expected, along with experience in remote sensing, environmental modeling, or data-driven analysis. Candidates must be based outside Canada at the time of nomination and willing to relocate to Canada for at least one year. The award is open to all nationalities, including Canadian citizens currently abroad.

Funding: $70,000 CAD/year for two years plus benefits. The award is already secured.
