Funded PhD opportunity at the University of Zurich in Science Communication and Health Communication, within the NCCR Children & Cancer project at the Chair for Science Communication, IKMZ – Department of Communication and Media Research.

The doctoral researcher will work on communication related to children and cancer, including analysis of media, news, and social media, as well as surveys, survey experiments, and quantitative/computational data analysis. The role also includes scientific publication and participation in international conferences.

Eligibility highlights: a master’s degree (or equivalent) in communication science, communication and media sciences, or a closely related field; strong methodological skills in quantitative and/or computational methods; clear interest in empirical social research; proficiency in English; and good command of German or French.

Position details: 80% employment, 3.5-year contract, based in Zurich, Switzerland, with a start date in September 2026. The position is paid according to the cantonal salary scheme.
