Job position
Activities linked to the JiM project – Social and environmental justice in 15-minute cities, in particular within the WP3 dedicated to the construction and evaluation of 15-minute city scenarios. The main objective is to analyze the social and environmental implications of proximity models, combining spatial, mobility and socioeconomic data to develop indicators and tools for the toolkit. The candidate will also assume coordination and monitoring tasks for the work package, with project manager-type funcions:
• Collection, harmonization and analysis of multimodal accessibility data (walking, cycling, public transport) and socioeconomic and environmental data.
• Development and application of indicators to measure social and environmental justice in 15-minute city scenarios.
• Integration of spatial data (GIS) and sources of perceived and observed mobility to evaluate trade-offs between different scenarios.
• Contribution to the design and prototyping of the JiM toolkit, with analysis modules and urban policy recommendations.
• Participation in co-creation and validation processes with institutional and social actors, and in the writing of scientific articles and technical reports.
• Coordination of WP3: planning, calendars, monitoring of milestones and deliverables, support in economic justification and risk management.
• Scientific and informative dissemination of the project results through conferences, workshops and transfer materials.
Job position requirements (skills/languages/required experience)
Studies
Doctorate in Geography, Economics, Political Science, Sociology or related disciplines
Computer Science
• Advanced knowledge of statistical packages (Stata, R or equivalent).
• Experience in spatial analysis and use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
• Ability to work with large databases and data management tools.
• English.
• Spanish or Catalan will be valued
Work experience
• Previous experience in research on transport, environmental policies or electoral analysis.
• Participation in competitive research projects and publications in international academic journals.
• Experience in the use of causal inference methodologies applied to spatial data.
• Knowledge and advanced use of quantitative techniques (regressions, longitudinal data models, MLR, GLM, etc.).
• Work in multidisciplinary teams and in international research environments.
• Ability to work interdisciplinary and collaborate in international teams.
• Good communication and scientific writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple data sources and integrate them into complex analytical frameworks.
• Autonomy in planning and executing research tasks
