The Westmoreland Lab in the Department of Chemistry at NYU is looking for a motivated postdoctoral associate to perform interdisciplinary work on studying the conformational dynamics of redox-active proteins and electron transfer in metalloenzymes, with a focus on correlating structure with kinetics.

The successful applicant will be highly driven, with an interest in working at the intersection of biochemistry, biophysics, and structural biology and hold a Ph.D. in a related field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Structural Biology). The ideal candidate will have strong research experience, publications, and background knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

- Membrane protein expression and purification

- Insect cell expression and purification

- Protein expression and purification from native organisms

- Biophysics, including spectroscopic methods (stopped flow, EPR, TA)

- Structure determination (NMR, X-ray crystallography, cryoEM)

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, this position's annual base salary is $62,500. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

The appointment will start on January 5th, 2025, and last for one year, with the possibility of renewal.

Ph.D. degree in a related field (e.g., Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Structural Biology).

To be considered, all applicants must submit a cover letter summarizing research experience and specifying specific motivation for this position; a curriculum vitae (including a full list of publications); a statement of research interests; and three contacts to serve as references.
