About this position

The School of Psychology at the University of Leeds is advertising three Lecturer in Psychology (Teaching and Research) positions. This is a research-and-teaching academic appointment rather than a PhD or postdoctoral studentship.

The roles are based on campus with scope for hybrid working and flexible arrangements. The School is seeking candidates who can strengthen its research and teaching portfolio, with research interests that complement existing expertise in Health, Wellbeing & Healthcare Services, Childhood, Adolescence, & Ageing, Cognition, Perception, & Action, and Appetite, Nutrition, & Obesity. For one of the posts, applications are especially welcomed from candidates with expertise across research and student education in health/social psychology.

Applicants must hold a PhD and have postgraduate experience in a relevant field. The advert also asks for evidence of appropriate funding to support research, high-quality publications or outputs, and the ability to teach effectively. The successful candidate will contribute to learning and teaching, research, and internal administrative leadership within a collegial, research-intensive Russell Group environment.

Deadline: 5 August 2026. Interested applicants should review the full vacancy page and submit an online application through the University of Leeds jobs portal. For queries, contact Professor Mitch Waterman, Head of the School of Psychology, at [email protected].
