Exciting PhD positions in battery research at Ruhr University Bochum!
We’re looking for two talented and motivated researchers to join our team at Ruhr University Bochum for 3.5-year funded PhD positions in atomic-scale characterisation of solid electrolyte interphases in lithium batteries.
You’ll work with cutting-edge tools like atom probe tomography with cryogenic transfer, aberration-corrected TEM, focused ion beam (FIB), and XPS, all within an interdisciplinary environment.
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in materials science, electrochemistry, inorganic or organic chemistry. You should have experience with lithium metal or ion batteries (cell assembly, cycling tests, aqueous or non-aqueous systems) and a solid background in electrochemistry.
Experience operating SEM/FIB is highly desirable. A background in XPS of battery interfaces will be a plus.
Full-time, TV-L E13 (100%)
