The Faculty of Science and Technology at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) is inviting applications for a Master/Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) position in the Department of Food Sciences. The research project focuses on an innovative solar drying approach for high-quality Piper nigrum (black pepper) production, integrating aspects of food processing, halal food, and food safety. The successful candidate will join a dynamic research team led by Senior Lecturer Haslaniza Hashim, who specializes in food processing and safety.

Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline, with a minimum CGPA of 3.0. Proficiency in both English and Malay is required, and candidates must demonstrate independence, high motivation, and a strong interest in research and postgraduate studies. The position is funded by a UKM Grant, offering a monthly stipend of RM1700 for a duration of two years, with potential increments based on performance.

The research will contribute to advancements in solar drying technology and its application in agricultural production, particularly for Piper nigrum.
